Agnipath scheme
It is a program for officers recruitment under the ranks of officers, with the agenda of building a strong, young at the forefront, many will have 4 yr. contracts. It is a project that will provide the Armed Forces, Navy, & Air Force a very small picture.
Agnipath scheme eligibility
All 3 services will be registered through a centralized online program, as well as specific forums and campuses conducted by well-known technical colleges such as Industrial Training Centers & the National Qualifications Framework, among others.
Registration would be based on ‘All India All Class’. Agniveers will meet the medical requirements for getting selected in the military. Agniveers educational will remain same and the recruitment will be taken over twice a year.
Age Limit
A qualifying age ranging from 17.5 to 21 yrs. old. However, the upper age limit for candidates who need to apply this year is increased to 23 yrs. from 21 as a one-time waiver.

Indian Army
As per Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande, the shortlisting and selection will be done on a sound, transparent, robust , and fair assessment system that will make sure that the Indian Army select the best on an ‘All India All Class’ basis.
Indian Air Force
As per the Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari, the program will provide the Indian Air Force an opportunity to recruit a wide range of talent from the nation and give them with additional specialized aviation & non-aviation skills training.
Indian Navy
According to Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar, the Agnipath program will make sure that Agniveers acquires operational knowledge of its modern warships, submarines, aircraft carriers, military aircraft, IT systems, and the updated sensors, weapons, and network systems.

Enrolment will be undertaken through an online centralized portal for all services with specialized rallies & campus interviews from recognized technical institutes like, National Skills Qualifications Framework and Industrial Training Institutes, many more.

Salary under agnipath scheme
Agniveers will be provided with a monthly package that includes benefits like insurance & hardship allowances. They will also receive a non-contributory insurance cover of Rs. 48 lakhs during this period.
On the completion of the engagement period of 4 years, Agniveers will be paid one time ‘Seva Nidhi’ package.

Under this scheme both Men & Women between the ages of 17.5 and 21 will be brought into the armed forces.
Can girls apply for Agnipath Entry & is there any reservation for girls?
Yes, girls under the given age limit are open for the agnipath entry, while there is no such reservation for women under this scheme.
When will Agneepath recruitment start?
The first Agnipath entry rally recruitment will start from September – Oct 2022.
What are the terms of service under Agnipath?
After four years of service, 25% of the Agniveers will be retained in the regular cadre based on the merit, medical fitness and willingness. They will then serve for a full term of another 15 years. While the other 75% Agniveers will be demobilized, with an exit or ‘Seva Nidhi’ package of Rs 11-12 lakh, partly funded by their monthly contributions, and skill certificates and bank loans for help in their careers post completion of 4 yrs.

Does this scheme induce any change in the age to drop out from the military?
Military officials declared that this new scheme would help bring down the average age of the armed forces. In the Army, the average age would drop from 32 to 26.
Is there any change in the defense budget?
The defence budget of Rs 5,25,165 crore for 2022-23 included Rs 1,19,695 crore for defence pensions. The allocation for revenue expenditure was Rs 2,32,000 crore. The revenue expenditure includes the expenses on payment of salaries and maintenance of establishments.
